The Commons Dining facility, located at the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation in Front Royal, VA, features a grill, flatbread pizza station, salad bar, daily entrée, and dessert Station. Given the small size of this location, students and faculty create personal connections with the dining staff, and the chef works closely with students to provide a delicious, residential culinary experience. What the Commons lacks in size, it makes up for in personalized dining and attention to each customer’s individual needs. Chefs have the capacity to sauté to order, customize pho bowls, or personalize flatbread pizzas. With a clientele that is particularly focused on sustainability and animal welfare, we offer a robust variety of vegetarian and vegan offerings such as rustic Portobello mushroom ciabatta sandwiches, whole wheat penne pesto pasta with vegetable cacciatore, or couscous with Marine Stewardship Council certified lemon Chile tilapia. Guests can enjoy the expansive view through large windows, or they may take their meal outside on the patio.
